Role
Ezequiel joined the OLI team as a senior application engineer. As part of the Sales, Client Success & Support team, Ezequiel brings expertise in chemical engineering to help OLI customers solve problems and maximize their success using OLI products.
Accomplishments
Ezequiel is an OLI Sr. Application Engineer with 11 years’ experience in the oil refining and petrochemical industry. He joined OLI in 2020 and is involved in a variety of technical and consulting projects.
Ezequiel is an Application Engineer specializing in industrial and operational projects as well as currently working on process units of interest to him (FCC, Alky, and Prime G). Ezequiel is also experienced in the process modeling of Refineries and Polymer Plants.
Prior to joining OLI, Ezequiel worked for 4 years with Chemstations where he gained much experience in Process Simulation and 5 years total with Baker Hughes and Aggreko, where he gained experience in simulation, design and project commissioning. Ezequiel spent two years with KBC where he gained experience in Refinery-wide flowsheeting, simulating refinery complexes with a focus on molecule management and project identification to improve refinery margins. Ezequiel also gained experience in Utility modeling and Polymer Processes modeling.
Ezequiel is also interested in Digital Transformation projects and is currently working on generating ideas to bring our consulting expertise in electrochemistry to digitalization/digital twin projects as well as expanding our automation offerings.
Areas of Expertise
Ezequiel has been involved in a large Pinch Analysis project focusing on energy savings and carbon reduction. Activities included Benchmarking of two large sites, analysis of current heat transfer networks and development of projects and class 5 cost estimation to close the energy and emissions gap.
He has been involved in two large Project Improvement Programs with various degrees of involvement, including the development of utility modeling and site-wide hydrogen balancing.
He has been involved in a Margin Capture Project at a refinery in the West Coast, where he was the project Petro-SIM specialist, developing the refinery wide simulation of the site and further configurations to assess economic impact to help the refinery increase margins by 2 to 4 USD/bbl of crude.
He managed accounts in the Texas Golden Triangle (Beaumont, Port Arthur, and Orange) as well as Houston, West Texas and New Mexico. Under this role, he advised refineries and petrochemical plants on short-term projects to capture market-share and projects to prevent shutdowns and/or bring back the refineries from a shutdown in record time.
He also participated in multiple PSAs for the projects he developed as an advisor on the processes designed or technologies he recommended.
Ezequiel has worked on many international projects (as a project/process engineer and project manager, mainly in the Americas region).
